Some 450 STIB drivers and conductors will be on board on New Year’s Eve, ready to take the partygoers home safely.
All metro lines and five tramway lines – 3, 4, 7, 51 and 93 – will be reinforced and working from 8 pm until 2 am. Futhermore, as from 8 pm, metro line 2 will be extended to Heysel for the fireworks. Note that, at police request, the King Baudouin station will be closed between 6 pm on 31 December and 8 am on New Year’s Day. It will be necessary, therefore, to go as far as Heysel station (closed during the fireworks show from 11:45 p.m. to 0:15 am) or Houba-Brugmann. The tram 7 terminus will be Centennial. Bus lines 84 and 88 will be limited to Palfyn stop. The Noctis bus 18 will be limited all night to the Stadium stop.
Noctis 11 buses will be in service from midnight until 5 am. The TEC network will be free of charge on both 31 December and 1st January, from first to last service. It will be nevertheless necessary to validate a ticket, available in vehicles.
