P.M. Michel:"I shall not allow myself to be intimidated by N-VA blackmail”

by editor December 17, 2018
December 17, 2018
“I shall not allow myself to be intimidated by the N-VA’s blackmail on the budget vote,” Prime Minister Charles Michel said on Monday.
“The budget was approved in a commission and supported by the then Minister of Finance – Johan Van Overtveldt of the New Flemish Alliance (N-VA),” the Prime Minister said, adding that “not a euro has been changed” in the draft.

“N-VA is conditioning its vote either on the acceptance of snap elections, and thus a long period of immobility, or on a headlong confederal rush,” he commented. “In both cases, its conditions are unacceptable.”

“The Government is pressing on with its work so as to guarantee citizens’ interests regarding, more specifically, purchasing power, security and climate issues,” he stressed.
