30 flights cancelled on Thursday night at Brussels Airport

Flights will once again be disrupted at Brussels Airport in Zaventem on Thursday evening due to the ongoing strikes by Belgium’s air traffic controllers.
The air traffic controllers – from Skeyes-  are striking in protest against the high workload and staff shortage. As a result, another 30 flights were cancelled this evening, according to reports.

One in two flights already has a 45-minute delay. The airport anticipates and installs beds for travellers who have to spend the night, according to HLN.

On the fifteenth day of Skeyes staff action, 200 passenger flights were cancelled, along with dozens of cargo flights, the airport said. Thousands of flights also suffered delays of an average of 30 minutes.

“The actions had a strong impact on the passengers and employees of the Brussels airport, forced to adapt, ” said an airport spokeswoman to Le Soir.

Those concerned about their flight are advised to check the airport website for the most up to date information.
