by editor

Participants flocked to Antwerp on Sunday for the silent march against sexual and all other forms of violence.

The march was organized in reaction to the death of Julie Van Espen. Schilde’s 23-year-old student was killed by a reoffender rapist who confessed. The march was to begin at 2.30 pm at Koningin Astridplein.

According to police estimates, some 10,000 people were present.

Three of the victim’s friends took the initiative to organize this protest march against all forms of violence, in particular sexual violence.
