Attempted kidnapping of two children in front school outside Brussels

by editor May 3, 2019

A man attempted to lure two children as they left their school in Wavre on Thursday, La Dernière Heure reported on Friday.
The man approached the two brothers, aged nine years old, on rue de la Fontaine at 15:30 in Wavre, in front of their school.

It was the principal of the school who first saw the stranger approaching the two children. According to eye witnesses, the man acted suspiciously and started to follow the two children.

As he was following them, he made contact with them and offered them candy, La Dernière Heure reported.

The two children reacted quickly and ran away from him, back to the school where they reported the incident. The unidentified man escaped from the scene.

The police and prosecutors have been notified of the incident, and an investigation is underway to identify the individual.
