Brussels Airport Company, Brussels Airlines and TUI Fly filed the legal action on Thursday last at the Brussels Business Tribunal to obtain a guarantee that Skeyes would perform its services, according to the information obtained on Tuesday morning. The suit was filed after Skeyes interrupted its services for 3.5 hours “and thus severely affected the good functioning of the airport”.
Brussels Airport justified its action by the “important economic damage” suffered and the fact that “its reputation has been tarnished” by the “persistent and unexpected” disruptions caused by the actions of Skeyes’ staff.
“It’s important for Skeyes to take the necessary measures to guarantee the service, for which it has a monopoly,” said airport administrator Arnaud Feist, recalling that he “has no choice” of partner with regard to air traffic control.
The case is scheduled for 18 June.
