GAIA accused chicken restaurant 'Poule et Poulette', but filmed wrong farm

GAIA apologizes to the “Poule et Poulette” restaurant chain after accusing them of consumer fraud, but filming in the wrong chicken farm.
The animal rights organisation GAIA published undercover images that they thought proved consumer fraud at “Poule et Poulette”, but they filmed at the wrong farm, confirmed Michel Vandenbosch, president of GAIA, to VTM NIEUWS.

GAIA started filming in an industrial chicken farm where the chickens are cooped up together with thousands in a small area. “Those are not the chickens that are happily wandering outside, as shown on the “Poule et Poulette” website,” GAIA said on Thursday.

In a reaction, the restaurant chain with branches in Antwerp, Brussels, Ghent and Mechelen said that the images that GAIA distributed were not made at their supplier, which turned out to be correct on Friday afternoon.

Poule et Poulette will not take legal action against GAIA.
