PaKt 2030 is based on six “itineraries” and contains dozens of measures. Groen President Meyrem Almaci said the party had come up with social measures for each itinerary so that people with low or medium incomes do not end up footing the bill and the most vulnerable people receive support.
The measures include replacing the advantages enjoyed by company cars with a mobility budget. The tax advantages granted to gasoline cards would disappear next year, while those granted to company cars would be eliminated by 2022. Public transport fares would be frozen.
“By 2025, 100,000 seats must be available in trains,” added the head of the Groen group in the Flemish Parliament, Björn Rozska. “By 2030, the duration of journeys has to decrease by 30%.”
Further measures include concluding a green deal with the industrial sector to ensure the energy transition promoting the circular economy and reforming the European exchange of emission quotas system.
