Speaking to the press at the annual Mobile World Congress in Barcelona earlier this week, Vincent Pang, President of Huawei’s Western Europe region, presented some of the company’s latest plans and developments.
The telecom giant continues to innovate and push for 5G and its deployment in Europe and other regions. The company also unveiled its much anticipated first 5G phone, the Mate X, which is also the world’s first foldable phone alongside the Samsung Galaxy Fold.
The Mate X is expected to be on sale in Europe later this with an initial announced price tag of 2,300 EUR as the first generation of foldable phones get a foothold in the mobile phone market.
Alongside its latest array of B2C devices and gadgets, Huawei also highlighted some of its latest developments in 5G technology during this year’s MWC event.
In a joint roundtable meeting, Swiss telecom provider Sunrise updated the media on its progression of 5G deployment together with Huawei, with an expected coverage of over 150 towns and villages already in March, making Switzerland the first country in Europe to offer consumers concrete and comprehensive 5G solutions.
