The parents of the 4-year-old girl that was allegedly sexually abused at a school in Schaerbeek will talk to the federal public prosecutor’s medical examiner on Thursday.
The medical examiner found on Tuesday that the toddler was not abused, but was suffering from an infection. However, the parents at the school were not satisfied with the information they were given and started protesting at the school gates, as previously reported.
The toddler’s mother found blood in her underwear after she had picked her up from school last week, and went back to the school, who in turn sent her to the hospital.
The bleeding in the pubic area could be the result of an infection, according to the medical examiner. However, the parents are not convinced and want to see the complete medical file. On Thursday they will talk to the examiner, said their lawyer, Stéphane Jans, in the La Capitale newspaper.
“We are going to look at whether the investigation was conducted correctly, but I believe in the conclusions of the public prosecutor’s office,” said Jans. “I think there is a lot of ignorance in this case. It’s a storm in a teacup. What is important is that peace and quiet can return. Traumatising the other children leads to nothing if nothing happened at all,” he added.
