A wedding procession has been accused of 23 traffic violations as they passed through a town in Flemish Brabant, according to Belgian media.
The police found 23 violations of the highway code by a wedding procession that passed through Wemmel on Saturday 9 March. As a result, the participants risk a fine.

Several calls were made to the local police zone by residents who were disturbed by the reckless driving of people who passed through the municipality in a wedding procession. When the officers arrived at the scene, they were nowhere to be found.

The incidents were confirmed through the use of camera images, said spokesperson Fred Scrayen. “Passing on the right, not using direction indicators or using them incorrectly, obstructing traffic, ignoring the red light: the list of glaring traffic offences is long. A total of 23 infringements of the highway code were found.” The infringements were reported to the public prosecutor.

The idyllically located town hall of Wemmel makes it much sought after for photo shoots of couples who get married, says Scrayen. “But we will continue to closely monitor compliance with traffic rules through wedding fidelity in the future as well.”
