Belgium’s King Philippe and Queen Mathilde are in isolation after a coronavirus case was confirmed within the royal family on Thursday.

The royal pair will limit their social activities in order to follow coronavirus health guidelines, the palace announced in a press statement.

“Following a confirmed Covid-19 case within the Royal Family, their Majesties the King and Queen have decided to limit their contacts in the coming days as a precaution, in accordance with health regulations,” the statement read.

The royal palace did not reveal further details, but the Belga news agency reported that the case involved one of the couple’s children, according to De Morgen.

The king and queen have already received PCR tests, which came back negative.

All activities on the royal couple’s agenda this week have either been canceled or postponed.
