Paris remains on flood alert as River Seine swells after heavy rain

Paris remained on flood alert on Tuesday with the River Seine’s water levels still on the rise following heavy spells of rain.

The water flooded the footpaths on the river’s banks, popular with walkers and cyclists.

Rising water levels were expected to cause disruptions to underground public transport.
