In a devastating incident on Tuesday, a fire broke out at a retirement home located in Tuzla, a town in northeastern Bosnia, leading to the tragic loss of at least 11 lives. The flames erupted on the building’s seventh floor, leaving another 35 individuals injured, with three in critical condition.

Prime Minister of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Nermin Nikšić, described the fire as “a disaster of enormous proportions,” highlighting the severity of the situation. In a subsequent statement, Irfan Halilagić, the Premier of Tuzla Canton, indicated that local authorities are actively seeking alternative accommodations for the residents affected by the fire.

Similarly, Savo Minić, Prime Minister of the Republika Srpska entity, offered full support to the citizens of Tuzla during this challenging time. In a message posted on X, he stated, “We feel the pain and are always ready to help. Our deepest condolences to the families.”
