This unfortunate event occurred in five villages located approximately 19 kilometers from Amritsar in Punjab, prompting a significant response from local police.

In the aftermath of this tragedy, seven suspects have been arrested on charges of supplying the lethal alcoholic beverages. Senior police officer Maninder Singh stated that law enforcement is intensifying efforts to dismantle the network responsible for distributing spurious liquor in the region.
To ensure the safety of the local population, medical teams have been dispatched to the affected villages. Senior government official Sakshi Sawhney reported that these teams are monitoring individuals who may have consumed the contaminated liquor, moving those exhibiting symptoms to hospitals for urgent care. This proactive measure aims to prevent any further increase in the death toll.
