In a devastating event, a Russian airstrike targeted residential buildings in Kyiv, resulting in the tragic loss of four lives, including a paramedic who was actively assisting at the scene in the Darnytskyi district. The attack also left at least 24 individuals injured, encompassing both rescuers and medical personnel.

Extent of the damage and emergency response

The explosions caused significant destruction within the Comfort Town complex, where residents were inside at the time of the strike. Many were quickly transported to hospitals with injuries ranging from minor to severe. The assault not only resulted in fatalities but also caused substantial damage to the infrastructure. Several building entrances were compromised, windows shattered, and portions of façades were left in ruins.

Ongoing recovery efforts

Emergency response teams worked tirelessly throughout the night, clearing debris, extinguishing fires, and facilitating the evacuation of residents from the affected areas. The airstrike disrupted essential services, leading to outages in electricity, water, and heating, which compelled some families to temporarily relocate. Inspections and repair operations are currently ongoing as municipal services strive to evaluate the full extent of the damage caused by this tragic incident.

“The situation remains dire as we assess the aftermath of this attack,” said a city official.
