On Friday, European Parliament President Antonio Tajani announced that it would ban a conference with former Catalan President Carles Puigdemont inside the institution for security reasons.
“There is a high risk that the proposed event could pose a threat to the maintenance of law and order on Parliament’s premises,” the institution said in a statement.
The conference was scheduled for Monday.
