After the cancellation of the first swim in the Bois de la Cambre pond, two new dates were finally announced for the weekend of August 17th and 18th. The collective in charge, “Pool is Cool”, confirmed the information on social networks.

“We have been waiting for the announcement until we are certain that it (swimming) can take place,” reads the Facebook event “Expedition Swim – Bois de la Cambre – 2”.

At the end of July, the first attempt was canceled for reasons of a high concentration of E. coli bacteria and a low oxygen level.

This time, the evaluations were positive. “In collaboration with Bruxelles-Environnement, we have tested the waters several times and the water quality tests are good,” confirmed the organization. Pool is Cool also plans a surprise to warm the bravest swimmers given the cool temperatures expected.

On Saturday and Sunday, the pond will be accessible to swimmers from 13 to 18h by 30-minute time slot. Prior registration is not required, only upon arrival.

Pool is Cool, which campaigns for more bathing places in the Brussels-Capital Region, organized this summer several outdoor swimming in ponds in the capital. Some planned at the end of July have been canceled, at Bois de la Cambre but also at Pêcheries, in Watermael-Boitsfort, because of the quality of water was also too low.
