Britain’s Border Force and Coastguard officials rescued 49 migrants in the English Channel in the early hours of Thursday, Sky News reported.

The people said they were from Iran, Iraq and Afghanistan, the U.K. Home Office told Sky News. “They will now be medically assessed and transferred to immigration officials for interview,” it said.

They were brought ashore after the four small boats they were on were intercepted by the British authorities, according to the report.
