Regional Finance Ministers work out tax ease for leased electric vehicles

by editorDecember 21, 2018
December 21, 2018
Regional ministers of Finance have worked out a collaboration agreement providing a tax ease for leased electric vehicles, L’Echo and De Tijd newspapers reported on Friday.
Under the accord, people who buy electric or hydrogen-powered vehicles on lease will be exempted from circulation tax. The ministers hope in this way to boost the greening of the country’s car fleet.

An agreement between the regions was necessary to modify the tax system for leased vehicles and avoid having leasing companies in one region move to a more favourable region.

The regions’ proposals still need to be approved by the various governments.
