Charles Michel postpones wedding to avoid quarantine

by editor

European Council President Charles Michel has postponed his wedding, which was supposed to take place in France this weekend, to avoid quarantine upon his return. His spokesperson confirmed the delay, first reported by Belgian newspaper Le Soir.

Michel and his partner Amélie Derbaudrenghien, who have two children, were supposed to get married on Saturday in Montmeyan, a village in the southeast of France.

However, that region is classified as an “orange zone” by Belgium’s Foreign Affairs Department, which would mean the former prime minister would have to quarantine himself when he got back to Belgium.
