Afghanistan airlift rescue: Thousands of refugees arrive at US airbase in Germany

Refugees from Afghanistan are arriving in their thousands at a US air base in Germany.

The base has become a makeshift refugee camp and an international airport to evacuees – many children have arrived on their own.

Before the deadly attacks at Kabul airport, BBC Europe correspondent Jean Mackenzie visited Ramstein Air Base as the complex operation too place.
